BIBLE STUDY FOR YOU
A free resource for anyone desiring relevant and scriptural Bible Studies for group or individual use. Designed to invite the student to look deeper into the Word of God, into their own hearts, and to become more like Christ.
ABOUT
The Bible Studies were written and taught by Gretchen Horton to the women at the Newberry Community Church in Newberry Springs, California. Guidance and encouragement were given by Pastor Vaughn Ulm and assistant Pastor Richard Nazarenus. Although we use many Bible Studies that are available in print, these studies have been effective in the lives of those who desired to gain deeper insight and blessing from God. Gretchen heads up the women's teaching ministry at the Newberry Community Church and is trained in Biblical mentoring.

SYNOPSIS OF LESSONS
KINGDOM LIFE is a series of in depth lessons on “The Sermon on the Mount” in Matthew 5 through 7, and Luke 6:17-49. Studying the words of Jesus is challenging and brings the student to personal examination, prayer and a closer walk with God, while revealing how we are to live in the Kingdom of God.
CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD looks into actual conversations between people and God as seen primarily in the Old Testament. Included are portions of scripture about Adam and Eve, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Hannah, Solomon, Daniel, Job, Asa and Habakkuk. Attention to these conversations will bring you to a new understanding and practice of prayer.
O HOW I LOVE YOU LAW is a close examination of the Ten Commandments, the Decalogue, found in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:1-21. The one who undertakes this study will come to appreciate the practicality and necessity of taking the moral law of God into account in everyday life. Rather than seeing the Law as a burden, you will come to love the Law as a gift to you from the Lord.
JONAH – A WHALE OF A TALE – is the well know story of the reluctant prophet who ran away from the commands of God. He suffered radical consequences which drove him back to obedience. This is really a story about all of us in the process of sanctification leading to godly obedience. It is a short study, only five lessons, but it is powerful in its implications for the walk of the believer.
IN TIMES LIKE THESE is an examination of the second letter written to Timothy by the apostle Paul while he was imprisoned in Rome. In anticipation of his death, the apostle speaks poignantly about the last days, very much like the times we live in today, and so it forms a very personal letter to all of us. In these eight lessons Paul’s tender heart is revealed along with his longing for God’s people to persevere while waiting for Christ’s return.
